

John Goodwin is a founding and managing member of Filament. John’s work over a 24 year career has touched nearly every aspect of private family wealth management including wealth structuring, preservation and transfer, philanthropy advising, and investment management. John’s diverse experiences in the area of philanthropic advising include founding A World of Difference, LLC (a Seattle-based philanthropic advisory practice), serving as Associate Vice President for Development of the University of Washington and practicing law in the estate and personal planning group of Foster Pepper PLLC. Prior to founding Filament, John also held senior leadership positions in the wealth management industry at Cornerstone Advisors and the Quellos Group. John received his JD from the University of Washington, Order of the Coif and his BA, magna cum laude in Economics from the University of Notre Dame. He is a member of the Washington State Bar. John currently serves as a Director of the Kennedy Catholic High School Foundation, and as a member of the Kennedy Catholic High School Advisory Board. He is a founding and current board member of the Seattle Philanthropic Advisors Network, and serves on Planned Giving Advisory Committees for both Seattle University and Seattle Prep High School. John is a past Trustee of the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, and also served on its Foundation Board and Board of Ambassadors.
